With 8 Albums out with metal blade and the constant touring you wouldn’t forgive this band for planning on a break. But with the rest of this tour taking them around the world and finishing off their year, and the new year bringing a heavy US tour. They still planing and getting back to business and writing another album for you to raise your Viking horn too! With Amon Amarth on the cover of most metal magazines, and reviews high in the sky. While the goings good you might as well ride with it.

Amon Amarth came onto a mostly empty stage with their massive album cover backdrop just fitting on the back wall, lit up with red and fluorescent black light. After the dramatic opening intro they blast into the albums opening and self titled track “Twilight of a Thunder God” followed as promised by others from their new album mixed well with older records. The riffs alone kicked you in the face but joined with brutal double bass and Johan’s Viking Roar it became clear why I’ve heard a lot about Amon Amarth over the last 12 months.
Songs such as Guardians of Asgaard, and Varyags of Miklagaard stood out and with smoke cannons bellowing out smoke and strobe red lights it created an awesome stage show. What seemed an empty stage at the beginning now seems small with the band headbanging the riffs from front to back. The lyrics are Viking, they look Viking and Johan drinks from a Horn! All in all though a great metal band, check them out next time they sail to our shores!
