Getamped open this debut album with a little intro that introduces us to both sides of this interesting act with gentle melody and volumounous heavy riff, so the album starts proper with a heavy pop inspired song, and being the album titled song 'postcards from hell' it wastes no time in grabbing your attention and making you tap something - the tune is almost addictive in its intensity. The album has 15 tracks that are full of attention grabbing songs that you will not be able to ignore, the second track is the popular single 'Reject and sterilise' that was released towards the end of the year 2005, and sounds a sfresh now as it did then. The band have the knack of writing pop tunes but with the insensitivity of rockers who love to rock it up, and they do a good job. The third track 'Tyrannosaurus' is again pop, melody but with rock inspired guitars bordering on the edge, and I begin to understand where they are coming from, big guitar sound, punchy drums playing tunes that good girls like. This is a sound that will conquer the US, but will it gain a foothold in little old England? Perhaps the secret to achieving that is gigging like man, and these are doing so. Track 5 shows the band putting away the knuckle dusters and playing it straight with a great pop guitar song in 'in loving memory'. The songs are liberally sprinkled with energy and urgency that is infectious.
