Take the intelligence and showmanship of Sahb, the Celtic fire of Thin Lizzy and the brooding stance of Nazareth couple it with some post millenium metal and you forge a band of Against's quality. Wrapped in Scottish Steel these guys are going to steam roll their way to the top. The debut album 'Dance of the dead' unleashes itself with a skyscraper tracks of seven minutes 'Fallen evil' and sets the tone with twin metal guitars dancing in patterns around the iron riffery - mental pictures of bearded warriors swigging their ale as they throw their curses at the flicering flames of giant fires fuelled by the burning dead of the defeated enemy. The second tune, 'Dance of the dead', is a heavy slab of thrashing steel stabbed through with lances of alloy played through at disjointing pace. Tune three keeps the pace going with three and a half minutes of head nodding and brooding riffs, laced with great bouts of solo work. So it continues over another six sweaty songs of unashamed guitar work and finger pointing lyrics. This invokes the ghosts of scottish metal gone past in style and quality, this is an album for the boys who like little expensive guitar work, leather and studs and bouts of drinking to rival the gods.
