Mantra have a groovy rich metal sound dripping with heavy riffs and a nicely balanced speed suitable for an afternoon of getting down and heavy toking till your lungs burn, not that Mantra is a stoner band, far from it, but some rock is just right for the moment. Eleven songs of slow emphatic head nodding metal the band are out to entertain rather then create the experience for you, and as a backdrop they could fit in pretty much anywhere.

With lyrics that actually have meaning, with a story which is so much better then the fashion of pitiful statements of mayhem and crude generalities. lyrically I am more encouraged to think early seventies when artists wrote music because they had something to say. Musically the band are as tight as my uncle freds wallet while the sound is rounded and phat. Well worth checking out if you like anything between Down, Sabbath, Black Label Society, and now I'm going to dig out my old leathers and wear 'em around the house.
