The latest single from Attica Rage takes them one step closer to world recognition, now all they have to do is get themselves someone to mix the songs who is not hung up on the 30 year old sound of the NWOBHM style of mixing, I do agree that its important that the tracks should sound real and capture the live feel, but jeez.. so many great bands sound like they were recorded down at the Donkey and Cart pub and then mixed on an old 16 track mixer found in the bottom of a skip. Today's young Metalheads have been weaned on real polished productions coming out of the states, and they are not forgiven for something that is under par.
Now saying all of that Attica Rage are a superb band writing and recording great songs and are going to rise and rise, but unless they get some decent production and mixing they will falter like all the rest of the British metal bands that don't get signed by an American label.
This single Dark City has everything with great tempo, lovely riff's and a solo that will have your trigger fingers twitching plus a drum that has rolling thunder built in. A good track to get introduced to this Glaswegian band. The B side of this single is Motorhead's Overkill, and they have done a good Job on it, I'm sure lemmy will be chuffed with what they have done with one of his songs
