Don't miss these guys -- get yourself to a doll's night out, you won't see or hear anything else like it. l can still feel Amanda's throbbing and powerful vocals, in what was a fantastic venue for this double act, quirky and as fragrant as a morning rose. Brian on percussion was equally gifted and damned right edible, l want to take him to my bosom and mother him, feed him homemade cookies and tuck him up at night. I was fortunate to have a personal conflab with Brian before the gig, and was engrossed in his touring tales, the highs and the lows -- how they were practically burned out ("fried, and a headf**k", according to Brian), before they arrived in Glast 2005 after touring for two years solid. Despite this, Amanda had the energy to streak accross the stage and had to be removed by security. (If l had your figure my dear, l would have done the same.) Brian also told how in the suburbs of Boston during a radio festival, the band played out in the open to shit loads of local street urchins. Like the children of the pied piper they were hypnotised by these exotic, strange and orgasmic dolls... |
