Extreme metal of the Deathcore type, lovely stuff, bollock tearing metal to make your rectum pinch tight and your neighbours think again of moving away from the rumbling from next door. Damned To Blindness is the debut album from this new Italian act, formed from the cinders of various defunct bands in 2007, so fresh blood with new ideas and Latin passions brought to the Deathcore sound new energy.
Utilising the energy from earlier hardcore bands that the members were involved in 'The Modern Age Slavery' open the album with (after the pretentious big label intro) a blast of deathcore thrash metal that has you reaching for the volume on your stereo to tank it up even more, the album has a nice round dozen tracks and doesn't hang about with every tune trying to rip your door of its hinges.
If you are looking for comparisons you can try something like Job for a Cowboy, The Black Dahlia Murder etc, I would say that the quality is pretty high with huge thrash riffs bags break beats and speed pedals and on occasion when they slow it down such as track ten 'Purple' you can slip in a few head nodding moments. The band end the album with a cover of the Entombed track 'Wolverine Blues' which follows similar patterns and musically is the most melodic tune on the album and I must say that the band did a good fist of the song.
All in all a good debut, perhaps like all species of animal they should consider evolving a bit and drop the hardcore for some more melody and widen there appeal because they certainly can play and have a grasp of how to churn out interesting metal.
