Nickleback - Dark Horse

The album opens with a banging track with 'Something in your Mouth', and just as if they are doing a live show they keep the energy flowing with 'Burn It To The Ground' the riff drenched foot tapping second track. the best thing about Nickleback this past three years is that I feel they have grown up and have realized that rock 'n roll is REALLY about sex, drugs and rock 'n roll and now they have the confidence to put it into words, instead of just doing it!

What is there to say about Nickleback that hasn't already been said. So to continue, the album comes with eleven rocking tracks that is full of anthemic bouncing tunes that will stick in your head until the day you die. Already we have the chart topping single 'Gotta Be Somebody' released from the album and believe me when I say that the album has another five singles on it with equal quality, 'Gotta Be Somebody is the third song on the album and takes you from full on rock to a rocking ballad in one smooth transition that will have fans trembling in ecstasy.

With the forth track we have classic Nickleback with another smooching rock ballad in 'I'd Come For You'. So on this showing four of the tracks out of the first five songs on the album are future singles, so what about 'album' songs I ask myself, the ones that will not appeal to everyone, but will gain a niche following for some special ingredient that tags empathy from your life experience, could it be 'Next Go Round' with its beer guzzling stomping encouragement or the sixth track 'Just To Get High' with its story of a friends downfall, Nickleback cover everything that a rock 'n roll band could cover without getting political about it and in some sense that is a good thing, because right and wrong can get so blurred on occasion.

'Never Gonna be alone' is hopefully gonna be one of those tracks that doesn't get aired from the album but its powerful message is gonna be a hard one to resist for marketers. I am not going to tell you the rest of the story about this album, but the quality stays as high as the first half. If you are a Nickleback fan you are going to buy this anyway, but if your one of those people who took a fancy to the odd single over the years from this prolific band, don't wait for the singles to come out, just get out there and buy the album because you know that you will not be disappointed.
