Smile Exit Avenue - A Thousand Odd Lines

Exit Avenue – A thousand odd lines

‘Exit Avenue’ are a pop-punk band from London, UK. This 4 track EP reminded me instantly of New Found Glory mixed in a melting pot with Green Day, whilst being gargled by a kid with an electronics machine. Looking at the track names, I was quite prepared for generic and unforgettable tunes. Exit Avenue have an interesting sound if nothing else and it is certainly unique in it’s approach, however not the kind of sound which excites me. The squeaky-clean, high-pitched, bouncy production is a little tedious in places, but I will say, that the electronic aspect gives this band an edge and no doubt, if harnessed can bring new light to this genre. They are busy touring the UK and appear to have a strong following on MySpace. Take a look at their website and give this band a listen, because the 4 tracks I have heard so far are not bad. Exit Avenue are: Neil, Mitch, Nick and Sam.

Track Listing:
1) Gotta get out
2) Huntington Drive
3) Sweet Sixteen
4) Better Off Alone

Check out their MySpace for more information.
