Stuck Mojo are the legendary crossover metal / Rap band from the US. This is the seventh studio album and although the band have had a few lineup changes over the years and the bands music has waxed and waned sometimes heavier and sometimes lighter the rocking rappers have kept it real with the lyrics staying true rap.
The album contains twelve tracks with some great metal guitar riffs mixed and blended with some gentle rap vocals plus backing vocals and bags of melody. The opening tune after the intro, 'False God' has a division between the rap sections and the metal riff parts, but the vocals switch seamlessly between the different music styles and keeps you guessing about what is coming next, the melodies blend really well and is a worthy opener. The second tune rips into a great guitar riff and keeps it heavy when the rap vocals kick in and then slides into melodic chugging when the female backing vocalist takes the rap lead, all very classy.
I could go on and on about the blending and mixing but in truth it switches and changes so much you could be forgiven if a master mixer had been at work here because the styles blend so well it is as natural as nature itself. Suffice to say that I am as pleased as punch to have this album and if you are looking for something fresh or just want to hear a good example of rap metal then you won't hear much better then this. The band don't use the violent angry gangster rap lyrics but use the opportunity to lift and encourage while still on occasion keeping it down at street level.
