Trivium - Shogun

Shogun opens with the fiery explosive 'Kirisute Gomen' Trivium use melody with explosive phat drumming and some memorable riffs on this opener to their forth album and like all good metal bands they slip in some great squealing guitar solo's all delivered with perfect blasts of aggressiveness. The second tune 'Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis' opens in comparison to the first track with a lighter sound before ripping into one of the bands trademark riffs and gale force vocal assaults before balancing out with 'Matt's ' singing style.

Trivium are one of the few seriously aggressive bands that actually sing so that you can understand the lyrics. 'Down From The Sky' explodes next out of the speakers and just cements the album into your consciousness as one of the best that Trivium have released. The standard alum contains eleven tracks while the special edition CD/ DVD version comes with fourteen tracks that we have already reviewed.

The album has already secured itself as one of the fastest selling albums of the year and its only been out two months, if you are a fan then you have already got your copy but if your new to the band, join the gang and get blasted with the album you will not be disappointed.

Matt Heafy - Guitar, Lead Vocals
Corey Beaulieu - Guitar, Vocals
Paolo Gregoletto - Bass
Travis Smith - Drums
