A brilliant debut album from Woking based Open The Skies. Combining driving guitar riffs and powerful drumming, this band have pure musical talent. McKeown's vocals are superb and each track has catchy elements which keeps a constant energy throughout the album. Vocal’s alternate between screamo and a really strong singing voice. My personal favourites are track five (their debut single) - He Spoke Of Success and track eight - Change, which provide an outstanding example of Open The Skies at their best. Track 11 - Yours Faithfully is an excellent song and one which would have the crowd singing at any gig or festival. The whole album contains hit and after and this is certainly a very strong debut release. This band have a unique sound, which others should aspire to. Pure brilliance.I had the opportunity to see them perform live and attended solely on the strength of this album and i can assure you that Open The Skies carry it off live. They have just sold out local Woking venue Christ Church, a 400 capacity gig, which from the fan response on MySpace was an absolutely unforgettable experience. I would recommend this release highly - see their MySpace page for more information or purchasing. You will not regret it!
