Friday night in Wolverhampton and I'm at the wulfrun hall for the legend that is Duff mckagan and his solo project Loaded. With an impressive CV that obviously includes guns and roses and velvet revolver I was expecting a full house, in reality what I found was a third full (and that’s being kind) hall, with the amount of photographers nearly outweighing the crowd, on the line up was voodoo Johnson and the loyalties (a very impressive punk rock band ) loaded took to the stage to a luke warm reception opening with tracks queen joanasophina / no more /Seattle head.

Duff & co look good and sounding like you would expect, being hand picked as musicians and to duffs own admission Jeff Rouse is a better bass player, loaded produce good time Hollywood rock and roll music, tracks like dark days/ good news (before you mail in, I know duffs from Seattle ) this all looks a breeze compared to the last time I photographed duff when he was in the uk prior to the very public departure of Scott weiland from velvet revolver.
Slowly the crowd begin to warm to the excellent performance and for me the best track of the evening “executioners song” certainly tips me into buying the heavily plugged EP, which I do on the way out, its all just to surreal, one of rocks legends standing in a hall with a couple of people clapping, it just seems wrong, however the performance is fantastic, the EP to is a great taster of things to come.
