Trivium follow up their last album 'The Crusade' with 'SHOGUN' and displaying a more complex sound then ever before the band recruit Producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters / Rush / Stone Sour) to oversea the latest release and judging by the results, it sounds like it was a good choice as the band now come across as a more mature sound. Still using massive riffs but now slipping in melodies the sample track 'Down From The Sky' we have been giving to work with certainly hits all the right buttons and we can't wait to snatch a copy of the album proper to play
Utilizing the Japanese warrior creed as the image of this album ( Shogun means General' ) while the pre album download only single release 'Kirisute Goman' means literally "authorization to cut" - (the Samurai's right to execute any commoner who was disrespectful to him) Trivium continue their warriors creed with axe work sprinkled liberally throughout the album, and with 14 songs waxing lyrically about conquering, destroying and storming, there is plenty of fist clenching metal to rock to.
There is also a special edition version with DVD showing the making of the album. Trivium play unpretentious thrash metal and with four albums now to their name they are beginning to stamp their class on the genre.
