Opening with a great rock beat and rhythmic guitar riff, I thought this is not what I expected, and as I listened I noticed that something sounded wrong,
as it would go quite in sections I started playing with the buttons on my system and realised that the recording only sounds brilliant with surround sound, so starting again, I played the single from the beginning with surround sound and also turned up the volume, the song becomes transformed with the singing and guitars belting out, so don’t keep this to yourself go and stick it on the house stereo and blast it out.
The song still has FFAF's trademark vocal style and melodic angled riffery but the band have blended in a great rock rhythm that adds a new dimension to their sound. This latest single Kicking and Screaming suggests that Funeral For A Friend are beginning to experiment with their sound in a way that doesn't distract from their emo rock/metal sentiments and I give it a thumbs up.
