Hellfire - Bleed For The Cause

This band are situated in a mining town in Staffordshire and a parallel with their sound is instantly recognizable - I put their music on at full blast and feel like pickaxes being dug deeper and deeper into my head as if they're mining me for ore. This four piece HEAVY metal band has produced their debut album to be released through Casket Music in the middle of September and they won't be disappointing anyone - that’s for sure.

Their first track, 'Darkest Hour', comes on and I definitely feel the need to start moshing like a psycho. My blood flows a little faster and then, slight disappointment as the song ends and 'Hell On Earth' comes on... and then bang! I'm back to this state. This song has an awesome chorus that could turn a moshing audience into a rioting audience. The verse is vintage heavy metal and the chorus slows down and you bang your head until you get white flashes going off before your eyes.

Like many albums of this kind, a lot of the songs use the same formula.. but unlike many albums of this kind, each song is individually likeable and discernible as a different track - rather then a lot of albums as heavy as this, where each song could be any other, this band bring fresh riffery and beats to each song.

I recommend track 4 'Insanity' as another awesome pace-changing track, seamlessly switching from drumming that makes the arms blur and the eyes water to watch it, to the slower drumming that sees the skins buckle and strain under the increased vigour and energy put into each slammed snare, each banged high hat. This is definitely a band to see live and after the release of this album their stock will be going up, and they are definitely worth the £££ you will be expected to pay to see these madmen.

The energy with which they produce their work is really something. Make sure you get your name down on a pre-order of this one.. even for someone who isn't even fond of the heaviest, skankiest metal, this album is worth a going over. The riffs are just too inventive and the lines too fresh for you to think about missing out on it. An excellent debut.!

Royston Price - Guitars
Allan Brown - Drums
Jason Price - Vocals

I'll definitely be getting my hands on a copy of this album! I had this band at one of my gigs recently and they were the most memorable and exceptional unsigned band I have had the pleasure to meet and watch live this year. If you only buy one album this year make sure its this one, and more importantly get yourself down to one of their live shows.
