Nickelback, one of the highest selling artists of the last three to four years are releasing a single from their new album 'All The Right Reasons' called 'Far Away'. They've enjoyed massive success in the past with their hit 'How U Remind Me' and much more recently with 'Rockstar' - topping the UK Singles Chart for several weaks.

Chad Kroeger has one of the most distinctive and easily recognisable voices in the business and his input in a song - a gruff, crooning melodic sound almost guarantees, if not that it will be successful, that it will be easy to listen to. These Canadian rockers are alot softer then many other bands of similar genre and they provoke a 'love them - hate them' reaction amongst the masses. This single itself starts with a harrowing guitar riff, followed swiftly by Kroegers crooning voice. He talks despairingly of his own mistakes in dealing with a certain female - many of his songs concern the dark side of the gender and his bands great success is in no small part due to peoples ability to relate to his lyrics - who hasn't been spurned, or made mistakes in a relationship? The quality of the lyrical execution is the other secret - Kroger is an excellent vocalist.

This song follows Nickelbacks tried and test formula of producing hit records - this single is also a stark contrast to the other single released from the album, 'Rockstar'. It definitely isn't as lighthearted as Rockstar and Kroegers natural ability to put alot of feeling and, more often then not, sorrow into his vocalisations make him very suited to his chosen song subjects - love, and how it always ALWAYS goes wrong.

This song is definitely a power ballad that will land Nickelback another #1 UK chart spot - there released singles rarely fail in this aim. It's not as catchy and as upbeat as 'How U Remind Me' but it's alot more heartfelt, the lyrics hitting alot closer to home and combined with the general mood of the single buying population that Nickelback are awesome, I can only imagine how long it will take for them to get to #1. Stopwatch, anyone?
