Burn Down Rome - Devotion

Burn Down Rome release their debut album 'Devotion' with a huge and burgeoning reputation, I first heard the band last summer and have been
watching and waiting for this album for nearly a year, as the bands first release displayed rare talent and now here it is.

The album opens the compulsory musical intro before ripping into the first track 'Debauchery' where Jake delivers his vocals like a Juventus fan
slashing at a scoucers arse with a stanley knife... sharp and incisive for those with no memory for history!

so onwards, the band have an alternative sense of proportions (intelligence) but spank it with furious punk energy. But this is where the alternative tag is useful because although they claim to be a punk band this album shows that they could evolve into something more, if they could just get the gigs needed to build a big enough fan base, been based in London should mean that they could build quite a substantial ground swell but it is early days yet as these guys are still young. The bands first release 'Faith In Liars, Faith In Thieves was raw with bags of hardcore vocals but this is different and reflects their growing confidence and maturity.

The album has nine interesting tracks including the intro but even that has substance, creating a raw atmosphere bleeding with intensity Burn Down Rome have a rather unique sound which never gets boring and produce's a surprise around every corner. From the brooding opener to the last tune the music stands up on its own without gimmicks or undue violence or aggression, Jake on vocals can and does on occasion give some rice to a back drop of raw scrubbing guitars but its all done in the best possible taste.
