Lets not beat about the bush, this is the best Dragonforce album to date, it is so good it is probably going to end up in the top hundred albums of all time. Opening with 'Heroes of Our Time' with the bands trademark speed guitar out of the traps like a greyhound after a bitch on heat the seven minutes plus tune finishes almost before you have time to unsling your guitar to play along, this is the first single to be taken from the album and if truth be known it could have been any song on the album because they all stand tall and proud.

ULTRA BEATDOWN has eight songs of heroes and champions to thrill, although Dragonforce may have written the best speed metal on the planet they have also found the maturity to craft some superb lyrics that complement the melodies perfectly. The second track 'The Fire Still Burns'
continues the frantic head nodding and fret chasing sound that Dragonforce have made their own, with the power metal vocals of ZP welded to the roadrunner speed of David Mackintosh's drumming the twin guitars and multiple harmonies that the band produce this band is built for speed and if you don’t start grinning you just weren’t brought up proper!.

I could go on but trust me, if you are already a Dragonforce fan then this album is going to give you a hard on, and if you’re new to the metal of Dragonforce then know.. that the force could be with you, all you have to do is to grab this album and you too will have a reason to grin.
