The Cedar Falls have been forged from the remnants of several former bands, so when created The Cedar Falls had musicians hardened to the rigors and discipline of writing and performing and it shows in this four track EP, with every member playing with a commitment that is almost palpable, Jay who plays guitar and does the vocals sings with a volume and intensity not often heard while Matt on Bass and Steve on drums are so tight they would shame a ducks arse.
So what about the music, well the music is passionate and full on, something to get your teeth into and not for the faint hearted, does it rock.. does it!.. blasting off with 'Abandon' the first track starts off with all the knobs on full producing melody at full neck pace, it reminds me of a band from a few years ago 'Candycaine' comes to mind, but this outfit have more fire while the forth track shows that they can do more then make your bollocks tremble with 'A Place To Stand'.
But I have jumped a little bit the second track 'Twilight' opens with a little ditty melody again the knobs are full up... I like this, cause it produce's a sound that thunders the ground, and then the song really does take off and the ground actually does thunder, while the third song 'Unity' makes no preamble about been anything other then a flat out wind through the hair ride as it twists and turns through slow, loud and flat out. An EP to own and a band to check out.
