As you know by now, I love my rock music and what I didn’t take to was the self titled pop punk era, it was all a bit nothing and same as, it certainly wasn’t punk , punk was not only a genre but also a time, the bands that created the pop punk tag like Green Day & Blink 182 have faded away, all that said , if you took a pinch of Green Day, added a twist of Blink 182, threw in a condiment of Sum 41 and left to marinade in one of the most infectious punk voice’s I’ve heard for a along time, answer, BROADWAY CALLS.
The first thing you notice on their latest cd is the voice of Ty Vaughn, its addictive, his superb voice adding to the ridiculously catchy tunes makes this outfit differ from previous ones mentioned, With tracks like ‘Bad Intentions’, ‘Back to Oregon’ and especially ‘Save Our Ship’, I can see this song sung by the crowd at their gigs all over the world, you can’t help but want hear it all again.
With not a lot happening in the so called pop punk area at the present time BC’s timing is impeccable, its no wonder though, as they are signed to the Mr. green day himself record label, they will or should know all the correct buttons to hit to push BC along the pop punk road, that said, the album is really good and with Mr. Vaughn’s voice keeping you hooked for all 14 tracks the boys from Oregon should be very proud. It should have an ADDICTIVE warning label on the outside of the cd …
