With a deep fascination of the Occult Satyricon have been immersing themselves in the black arts and writing Black Metal for over fifteen years and with six albums and a fistfull of singles and collaborations the band are ready to release a fresh spawn upon the Earth entitled 'My Skin Is Cold' the five track EP takes their recent metal sound first displayed with the album 'Volcano' and stiffens it with more rhythmic riffery Satyricon say that 'My Skin Is Cold' is the direction that their new writing is taken them and provides a taste of what fans can expect in November when the full length album is released.
The EP opens with the title track 'My Skin Is Cold' which is a cold hard and darkly riff driven track that retains the bands methodology of slow deep head nodding and a rhythmic chanting feel which is shown to good effect on the two live tracks 'Repined Bastard Nation' first heard on the 'Volcano' album and the Seminole 'Mother North' from the 'Nemesis Divina' album but still retaining the dark touches of the braying horns first heard on their earlier releases due to the fact they performed live with musicians from the Oslo Philharmonic orchestra and Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra. All in all, three tracks never before been released and a couple of live songs that have never been put to plastic.
