The album opens with a great song in 'An Automatic Fear' full of self observations and excellent melodies and strong choruses that could make it a good single with its memorable hooks and melodies, the second song has a more brash bounce to it that continues the 'rockin' good time feel, perhaps feeder at their best comes to mind.
The band quote influences from a wide range of sources and as with many debuts the band shows off with its ability to turn their hand at different styles and so it is with track four 'Public Show' where they pause their party rock to churn out a song that starts with more simple melodies reminiscent of the thoughtful side, say of Biffy or At The Drive in, but still with the bands desire for a rockin' sound.
And that about sums up this album... it rocks and has songs that the band can use to get a live audience reeling.
After several listens the lyrics seem in places rather lightweight, but putting that aside the album has ten great stimulating rock songs with originality and flair that certainly warrants a few listens. The band have musicianship qualities that bodes well for their continued composing of quality songs, this is the bands debut album and is rather a good effort that should bring them lots of attention.
