Churning out a youthful modern hardcore sound with the band citing influences 'The Black Dahlia Murder, As I Lay Dying, Exit Ten etc, you can understand what this band like to hammer out.. and they are doing a pretty good fist of it considering the band members have an average age of under eighteen. This Five track EP shows a scope beyond their years and if they can continue to write material of this quality they are going to build something pretty damn good.
Opening the EP with a short but powerful intro and a great riff we soon slam into 'Lapdance Girl' with its stop start mosh pit mangle and the seedy darkness that emanates from the slow breaks, and at just at over three minutes long... its not long enough! But it gets better with the rest of the EP as the longer track times allow the band to explore the sound better, they have got the "twisted growling" down to a tee, I love that, and the huge soundscapes that explode in the songs are also very good, in fact by the third listen I'm hooked and pleased I got this and certainly hope the band move onto bigger things, like an album I can own.
The forth track 'Beyond The Rising Sun' has a saw like soundscape that bounces into a hammer ripping riff with some more of that "twisted in pain" growling the final song 'Mercy Across Your Face' at nearly seven minutes long promises to give something special, and that it does, opening with a mix of explosive beats and layered soundscapes of guitar and multi vocals before galloping across the open space with a huge atmospheric finale.
If you like modern 'core metal then you will enjoy this, make sure you check out the band.
