Johnny Panic - The Good Fight

London band Johnny Panic have released another cracker of an album, The band recently went through one of those painful breaks with their record label which can be so debilitating for musical talent but they have come out fighting with this new album release 'The Good Fight'' The album has thirteen exciting songs packed full of punk prickliness and singles that should keep the fans happy full of melody and excitement in the way that the band have become renowned for.
Still producing passionate lyrics about life's toils and troubles in a serious way but leaving out the aggression that can be such a turn off, the album opens with the up tempo 'Heroes of Villains' and lambastes the way that street culture makes heroes out of villains and other parasites of society not pulling any punches the second song 'The Rebel' pummels you with scorn at those who waste their life’s blaming others for their own inability to try and improve on their lot.. phew! but I suppose coming from a band who started of at the low end of societies expectations and using the hard work ethic to lift themselves up the ladder they have the right to encourage others to achieve their potential, but its still brutal, but back to the song.. its a great hum along tune full of hooks and bouncing energy that is worthy of a 'Johnny Panic' album. The third song 'I live For' could be anyone’s story full of lines out of life’s rough and tumbles but still with that JP indomitable fighting spirit and another single surly!.
The forth track 'The Third Degree' still banging out the fast pace that the album opened with reconnects with the fans this continues with 'A World Away' and shows that the band is as fallible as the rest of us. Now that Rob and the gang of got that off their chest
they show they can write songs that have a wider pull on the audience with 'This Time', 'M-19' and 'stay'.. finally a song about the girlfriend.
The band have been so busy fighting what piss's them off they had forgotten about the maidens, they follow up 'Stay' with 'Gone'. Track ten returns to the bands main ingredients of fighting the good fight with 'I know that I know', 'Never Me' and 'Dislocation' the bands first single taken from the album, and again full of great melody, punch and idealistic lyrics, the album ends with 'The End Is Near'.
