On a rainy ****ty night in Leicester begins the first night of the current Thin Lizzy tour. I always look forward to John Sykes & Scott Gorham gracing the stage but first came the support, The Stone Gods.

From the ashes that were the Darkness with the overrated Justin Hawkins at the helm a phoenix has risen by the name “The Stone Gods”, with Ritchie Edwards leading the front line as a leader should, backed by Dan Hawkins on lead guitar, they tear through a set that has myself and a steadily growing crowd hooked, with influences like AC/DC / Metallica and slade its no wonder they deliver pure rock n roll …….with one added bonus, we can understand Ritchie’s lyrics , which by today’s standard is a result!!! I didn’t know much about these guys until today , however, on tonight’s performance they are definitely one to watch , Stone Gods tour early next year , check out there myspace for details .
Stone Gods are;
Ritchie Edward ……vocals/guitar
Ed Graham…………drums

Its 9 o’clock and to a understated opening , a couple of sirens , Sykes & Gorham glide onto the stage , the 30th anniversary tour of Live and Dangerous album sees them pile through there arsenal of hits , Jailbreak , Emerald , Southbound , the list is endless , it’s a Mecca for lizzy fans …..Watching Scott Gorham grace the stage is like a meeting with Merlin, one serious wizard!!!!!.......of course they are fronted by the legend that is John Sykes , who still, in my opinion, gives Zak Wylde a run for his money …..All with the added bonus of Tommy Aldridge on drums (what a treat), as always they deliver a tight and honed set to be proud of, after all, they are Thin Lizzy!! , enough of the words, I will let the live shots do the talking, enjoy ………..
Scott Gorham -lead guitars
