A haunting post-hardcore album steering away from your standard screams and singing.
This is immediately apparent with the opening track ‘It’s far better to learn’. There is a definite ring of Underoath throughout the album but you’ll never get confused, it’s still their own sound.
It’s not a ground breaking LP certainly but it’s one well worth checking out if you’re a little fed up by the formula Screamo floating about. The main difference is Cove Reber’s vocals, with a haunting sound and unexpected melodies popping up all over the place.
One of the strongest tracks is ‘Voices’, the debut single that’s floating around all the major TV and Radio stations. Saosin have managed to take a sound that’s hardcore by definition and chill it out to the point where you can listen to it with your girlfriend without her trying to stick on Bon Jovi.
