Poison The Well are one of those bands that everyone quotes as a major influence in their musical direction. A bearer of leading experimentation from deep within the underground movement, shunning the sell out, Poison The Well are one of those rare talents who are feted by the moguls as a genre shaper but who are honourable enough to reject the dollar for musical freedom, to experiment and actually be unsafe in their musical direction, one day this band will be called legendary but for now they are still carving the future.
Utilising layers of articulated Emo, Poison The Well continue to experiment with their delivery and this album 'Versions' has a nice round dozen intelligent tracks which just oozes class.
This is the first release with their new label 'Ferret Music' and they haven’t let the side down opening with 'Letter Thing' they capture the urgency and passion that only someone
who "has belief" could articulate, a shame it only lasts two and a half minutes but in that time you are left in no doubt the songs sentiments. The band continue to use their stomping drumming on most songs but are not adverse to quieten the tornado to get across their message, getting across the message is what this band is about and they are passionate about the message. Judging by what PTW have done in the past this is slightly at a tangent musically, but anyone who has actually got into this band will understand and will grow with them and along the way they will collect even more fans.
Versions will grow on you and like the emotions it articulates it will catch your mood and
be perfect for that point in your life.
