Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster open the album 'II' with a southern rock belching out riffs that grab you by the the balls and insist you come out to play. This is head banging beer drinking territory where invites to finger your axe are left all over the place.
MATSOD II the album starts out on the run with 'Memories Of The Grove' and keep the pace going with 'Dry The River' with ten tracks the album hardly pause’s for breath until you get to 'Tale Of The Runaways' which shows that Dallas Taylor has a true rock
voice capable of a ballad. Dallas has a manner of singing/shouting that induces pure excitement and urgency while the bands three guitars produce a sound so full it's almost a mini orchestra, the album finishes with an instrumental that leaves you thoughtful and is perhaps a metaphor for the event they are named after.
Formed in 2004 in Birmingham, Alabama, MAYLENE AND THE SONS OF DISASTER Immediately began composing songs and touring the southern U.S. In 2005, MAYLENE released their self-titled debut on Mono Vs Stereo Records. Tours alongside acts such as P.O.D., Throwdown, Zao and as part of the 2006 VANS Warped Tour
(where MAYLENE was named as one of the tour's breakthrough acts), honed both the band's much-talked about live show, and stunning technical prowess. In April, 2006 the band signed to Ferret Records and the songs that would comprise their full length follow up began to take shape. On their brilliantly upsized sophomore release "II".
