Fonys new album 'Mercy After Fiction' seems to reflect a band in transformation, gone is the unique vocals of Ollie and in come the average vocals of Fraser and thats not being disparagaing - any vocalist would struggle to suppliment ollie's style.
When ACDC lost their vocalist Bon Scott they scoured the Earth and replaced him with someone who sounded the same. Fony however have decided to change direction and chose Fraser who is more of a quiet crooner then a passionate roarer.
The music is changing slightly as Fraser becomes involved in the compositions, so 'Mercy After Fiction' is not a new chapter, but a new book altogether - unfortunately there is no POW! to it.
The best track is the last tune 'Emperor' displaying Fonys trademark passions. The album imparts a feeling of 'the day after the greatest party on Earth' and I feel like being morose and bored.
