Puck open their mini album 'Beyond Reason' with the fiery 'All That You Are' a great opener and one that sets the high standard for the rest to follow, playing a mix of powerful rock grooves and sprinkling a few guitar solo's this seven track CD seems to swing from borderline heavy to the mainstream with several good ballads that also show the band have scope and ability.
Amy Jay displays great vocals but seems constrained by the scope of the songs while overall the band play it tight with good musicianship which probably means that they are going to capture the attention of the mainstream. This is a great refreshing new band that has the ability to write passionate songs about mature relationships with all the qualities needed to be noticed, 'Beyond Reason' is good enough to have several singles cut from it and if the band can carry on writing strong material like this they could be going places.
