Opening with a heavy emotional onslaught (NoHope) astronaut grab you with their talent in a way few bands manage, mixing up simple sweet melodies played on occasion with a thick calloused fist and then as if the calluses fall away to display the sweetest touch. The contrasting rips and upwards scrubbing chord riffs will make the attitude pop out like pimples on a fat kid, this continues into track two giving time for you to turn sweaty with undefined emotions induced by the chords used.
The third song keeps the contrast but the song turns into a little emo classic with it's sweet tasting lyrics and passionate open chord riffs, by now we start to get a little guitar feedback as the volumes are whacked up and emotions drip into the instruments.
With the bands penchant for experimentation and stretching the boundaries of what is possible starts to display itself the one fingered salute is expressed via the guitar feedback, but the band likes to keep things simple so although they have attitude, melody and power it is expressed in straight repetitive rhythms that merge and dive around each other.
The band has something fresh and show their talent in been able to mix it up as each song is different, this album has seven tracks which allows them to show their alternative credentials.. did I say simple? I meant simple rhythms woven into a complex and at times beautiful tapestry.
