Claypigeon are a London band that does not pigeon hole itself into any fixed genre but instead they have created a sound born out of lifestyle and experience hugely influenced by artists such as Marley, Dekker as well as Fishbone, Sublime, Matisyaha and Bad Religion which suggests the bands style... chill rock with the Buzz and Tempo of happy ska and the ethics of Marley, the band have coined a term for their music 'SKUNK' which equates out as ska+punk=skunk plus using bags of inspiration the band are carving out a following amongst the heads of London. Claypigeon have some strong singing voices and the fact that most of the five man band use their voices definatly adds to the camaraderie of the sound. This seven track self titled mini album uncovers the band and bares their styles where I detect pinches from the London melting pot of 'cor blimy', Caribbean Reggae, Ska and Punk with some African vocals adding even more richness to this tuneful and melodic band.
