The opening song starts of with a heavy throbbing clutch of guitars, then the vocals feed in with Simon extolling the lyrics - cue the guitar solo's and the melodic interplay between harmony's and guitar. 'Decoy', the first track, extolls the virtues of Humanity and their progressive bent on metal. The second song 'this endless pain' continues the throbbing guitar work augmented by the keyboards, with some nice guitar licks seeping in, and again weaved through the song - I am beginning to really like this album. The third song, 'serenity' (the longest track on the album), leads off with some keyboards and Simon going into ballad mode. It doesn't take long for a decent riff to mix in and add some sparkle.
After listening to the whole album, I was surprised to discover the band are so young, because they have written and mastered a mature art and to produce an album of this class and quality bodes well for their collective futures. This is a band I intend to catch live - if they can reproduce this class of musical ability on stage then they really could grow into something special and long lasting.
