Ok so I heard a lot of about these guys out in the Los Angeles area. Even though the "In Between Both Worlds" C.D. won't be release any time soon and there isn't an official release date, I figure I would visit one of their local gigs and to see what all this local hype is about.

Well- all I can say is AMAZING! My first impression when I walked in I thought I had walked into a gang member conference or something but was astonished when I heard them performing. JoJo Valdez sweet melodic vocals took me by surprise and to hear the sweet distortion of the guitars backing his vocals up sent goose bumps up and down my skin. Yea I was definitely feeling the music.

After the performance I had the opportunity to talk with Chuey and JoJo on a personal level and and wanted to see if anything was going to be release any time soon. Apparently JoJo has been busy working with his cousins (Big Lokote) music label (www.iamusicent.com) with music production (He's also a producer) for the chicano rap genre and I guess after June 2010 he'll be working F/T with MDF.

Chuey and JoJo apparently met in East Los Angeles (E.L.A.C.) and been working on music ever since. JoJo writes the majority of the music and is the lead singer/ guitarist and Chuey Martinez plays drums. The other members I wasn't able to talk to because apparently they had to leave for the night.

From what I hear so far with Moderndayfreak- I can say I like it. From "Sex Fiend" to "Nothing Last Forever" "No Tomorrow" and to "Soul Clot" I'm definitely feeling the music and seeing them perform live and they way they have the audience all over them I know that 2010 will be a good year for MDF.
