After going around London and annoying the hell out of people, The Spivs have finally conned someone to record a video...
The Spivs are the definition of raw and primal rock and roll music. Their songs are played hard and loaded with direct lyrics that burrow their way into your head and cut to the heart of the truth in less than two minutes every time.
Picture yourself in a dark, dingy venue with the bass and drums pounding like a beast, sweat flying. The guitar chops out a sharp & electric rhythm, then singer Ben Edge’s voice hurtles into the mix with the power of Joe Strummer and the heartbreak of Roy Orbison, a once in a generation voice that no one forgets.
After hearing a rough demo Liam Watson (White Stripes Producer) dragged The Spivs into his famous Toerag Studio to record. From this session they are releasing debut single ‘It’s True’ on 7” on 12 OCTOBER 2009 on 1965 Records.
Limited 7” single
A side: It’s True
B side: Big Men Don’t Cry
They steal the best of 1950s rock and roll, 1960s garage and 1970s punk, but this is far from a revival band, The Spivs are a band of here and now.
