The LA based six piece return with their sophomore full-length, Midheaven, the follow-up to their highly acclaimed metal masterpiece Nocturne. The Human Abstract has created Midheaven to be a puzzle box of sorts, meticulously crafted, and defying the expectations of a typical metal band. Sweeping solos, chugging guitars, and technical drum-beats underlie lyrics about intensely creative thought and expression. They seek to make you think, to tear down the established barriers that hold people back from becoming the most powerful and knowledgeable beings that they can be.

From the intense salvo of opening track “A Violent Strike” through the cool pop jazz chorus of “Breathing Life Into Devices”, to the epic vocals of “The Path” “Midheaven” is an album that twists and turns, a bold and innovative take on modern metal. An album not to be missed.

The band are an established live draw. They are on the second half of the Vans Warped Tour 2008 in addition to supporting the Trivium/All That Remains tour in late 2008. The band will play the UK soon…
