Their debut E.P. ‘The Day After’, released in September 2003, paved the way forward for RSJ, gaining sales worldwide through the bands website and helped establish the group with a solid and loyal fanbase. Having played with scene luminaries such as ‘Funeral For A Friend’, ‘Soilwork’, ‘Minus’, ‘Biohazard’, ‘Raging Speedhorn’ and ‘Orange Goblin’ to name but a few…RSJ’s unforgettable and energetic live shows led the band into bigger territories.
Mid 2004 saw RSJ sign up to Hangmans Joke Recordings and the release of their second E.P. ‘Blueprint For A Brighter Future’ to mass critical acclaim. Aside from four new tunes, the E.P. also featured the band’s debut video for the opening track ‘Reborn’ and saw RSJ’s first small screen appearance on Scuzz TV. Stunning reviews from publications such as Rocksound, Powerplay, Nuts Magazine and numerous other online e-zines followed.
In 2005 RSJ unleashed their first full-length release titled ‘
Reflections In B Minor’ (Review). Produced by metal guru Dave Chang, the 12 track album has already received stunning reviews from both the mainstream and street-level media and also gained RSJ a slot on the covermount CD of Metal Hammer.
A storming full UK tour with grind masters ‘The Berzerker’ in March 2006 followed as well as another fistful of flawless reviews in the likes of Terrorizer, Kerrang! And Powerplay. With a feature following in the Incoming section of Metal Hammer and their debut album appearing in the Kerrang! decks of doom writers playlist, RSJ embarked on a headlining UK mini tour in August 06. Kerrang! gave the band 4k’s for their incendiary live performance, sponsorship followed from Hughes and Kettner guitar and bass amplification, a BBC Radio interview and feature and a track on a Terrorizer covermount CD saw a successful end to the year.
Gain to Nothing features 10 new tracks as well as remixes, including one by metal giant Aker****e’s Matt Wil****, bonus live material and also their second video for the track ‘DEADBOLT’ all in a Limited edition Digipack. Having just completed a UK Tour with Kerrang favourites Anemic and a tour of Ireland in April, RSJ also hit the road in May 2007 for a full UK TOUR to coincide with the release of their album and plans are pending for the band to head overseas later in the year.
