Misery Signals Interview August 2008

Misery Signals formed in 2002, in the hardcore and metalcore world seven years is a long time, most bands have evolved or collapsed within that period of time, but Misery Signals abrasiveness has kept the "us against the world" attitude, and although they have had lineup changes they just keep coming back. Rock3 emailed the band a set of questions to help introduce them to a wider UK audience...

1. How did the band get together?
A: That's not a very original opening. We were friends and we like to make music. We played in other bands that didn't work out. Bam.

2. Where do you all come from?
A: Mars.

3. What bands were your greatest influences?
A: We draw influence from a lot of different places. Did you copy and paste these questions of some kids myspace? what the hell...

4. When did you start playing an instrument and what was
it?
A: I played piano when I was 8 or something.

5. What was the bands most memorable gig to date?
A: I threw up on stage in Wales. Kept playing the song.

6. What do you do to relax on tour?
A: Drugs.

7. You have Just released an album are you happy with the fans reaction?
A: Yes.

8. Who writes the songs?
A: Me and Stu.

9. Have you any plans for the rest of the year?
A: Yes.

10.What is your favourite song of all time?
A: One by Metallica.

11.What is the bands ideal goal?
A: World Domination. And get laid.

12.What equipment (manufacturer) does each band member currently use?
A: ESP Guitars, Mapex drums, SIT strings, Vic Firth Sticks, Zildjian cymbals.

13.Who has the worst habit?
A: Kyle Smokes.

14. Have you any plans to tour overseas in the next year?
A: Yup. Tons.

Despite the bands refusal to sell themselves, we still think they have talent, so if you want to know some of the answers, check out the bands Bio here
