As soon as I put on the Sekhmet album 'Last Stand' I felt this was going to be good, the opening track is an instru intro but it gave forth promise's and when the real stuff started the promises were kept and with ace's,
The second track is a typical thrash metal with blistering drums, a repetive riff played extremely fast and with a few squirts of bollock chugging guitar then a transformation takes place as the song slows down into a gentle melody before exploding into a guitar maidenesque finery for the last 2 minutes plus of the five minute tune, cool stuff!, track three increases the quality and starts to show the bands virtuoso credentials and its the first CD in months where I have tweaked the graphic equaliser to increase the pleasure of what is turning out to be a fucking decent album.
But speed and Thrash is what SEKHMET are about and that’s what is served up throughout this 7 track mini album, and with each track lasting approx 5 minutes it gives the band time to expand and produce some quality metal.
This is an album that is a must for thrash Metalheads and is likely to capture fans from other genres so inclusive is Sekhmets Style.
