Nic Turners latest release 'Space Ritual' EP still contains the magic Ingredients of Hawkwind at their finest. Nic was one of the integral members of this enduring sound and he use’s his finest instincts to record a three track EP that is not only original but manages to capture the feeling of those Halcyon days of free festivals.

When I say original there is a bit of leeway there as Nic use's the words from a couple of tracks from one of his earlier bands. The EP Space Ritual opens with 'Sonic Savages' and slips straight into the rhythmic subtles that capture your spirit and bring forth feelings of well being.

The second track 'Ritual Of The Savage Earth' incorporates the lyrics from 'Warriors On The Edge Of Time' and updates with a word here and a meaning there all done to a meshing of several little repetitive ditties that you can hum!.. am I joking?, but still the overall message is the same as before... don't be forced to the edge of time. (stand your ground)

Nic used his sax to good effect on the first song 'Sonic Savages' and he picks it up again for the third tune off this EP with a track called 'Jazzy Jam' and blends some nice swing sax with a little drum pattern and a bit of rhythm which is really rather groovy the electric guitar cuts in at some point and duets with the sax, this is Nicks passion which you can sense.

A great CD EP, well worth adding to your collection and a must for all cosmic rockers, and Children of the Sun. Also I'm not sure if this CD EP is going to be released on vinyl as a single so you will need to check out the bands website.
