Funeral For A Friend - Beneath The Burning Tree / Waterfront Dance Club (single)

Funeral For A Friend release the double A side Waterfront Dance Club / Beneath The Burning Tree single on July 14th and once word gets out that FFAF have returned to their roots and are breathing fire again there will be no server on earth that could handle the download demands, so make sure that you get their first or you might have to wait for a day or two for the techies to hook in more resources. One of the tracks are going to be available for FREE DOWNLOAD on the 14th which looks like it will be the song 'Waterfront Dance Club'. For fans of the band you should have heard these two songs on their myspace page by now!

The 'Waterfront Dance Club' leads of with a dark feel of crashing instruments before Matt roars out the first words and we are provided with an explosion of stadium filling angular riffs chewing out melodic metal in the best FFAF way.. if this is what a passionate and mature Funeral For A Friend will sound like I want the album now, Ryan hardens his roar as the song progress's and suddenly it finishes, the best things in life do that, come and go in a flash, luckily I can click start and this time also repeat. FFAF have shaken of the shackles of corporate industry and this very act has re-kindled their desires and passions which have so creatively been turned into music.

The second song on this double A side is 'Beneath The Burning Tree' is just a marvellous outstanding track that could have been on the 'Casually Dressed and Deep In Conversation' album full of joyful melodies and powerful vocals and with those clever passionate lyrics that FFAF have always done well. Lots of guitar melodies punctuated with huge riffs that add direction while Matt's vocals have a power that he hasn't used for a while, but perhaps that comes with belief in what he is doing.

If these two songs are representative of the new album then they have achieved the transformation from top emo teen band to just plain TOP BAND, Well done guys we knew you could do it.
