Just heard paranoia on your metalbox webcast.. ####hot man
| 25-07-2008 12:41 AM | Rock3 | Soulfly - Conquer
Opening the album with 'Blood Fire War Hate' Soulfly are out to get their message across with no pussy meanderings, this is the opening track from Conquer and once you have psyched into the mood, the second track 'Unleash' will have you up on your feet stomping around the fire chanting before the Rhythms pull you along into the haze of dreams.
The third track 'Paranoia' gets deep with its lyrics while the music whirls you about with some quality Soulfly gut metal, following this up with the menacing feel of warmaggedon Soulfly are truely back into their groove not afraid to display mans despairing tendencies we are again dealt a bag of jungle metal with the tribal war drums forcing the pace.
The album has eleven tracks of mind inducing bludgeoning metal with an unmistakable trend towards controlled rage that seeps and escapes on occasion from within the confines of the grooves, Nunez on Drums produces tribal rhythms at will before plunging back into thunderous thrash metal drums where the brutal growling roars of vocalist Max Cavalera sound so much at home, guitarist Rizzo delights with his thrash guitar solo's while the day job of articulating and mirroring the rage of Cavalera's vocals through his guitar means he tortures his strings with undulating manic riffery.
An album to be proud off and defiantly one to own, if your a brutal thrash head you know that 'Conquer' is already on your shopping list, but there is enough quality metal on this album to entice any metal head.
