Progressive rock elevates rock music to a level where the technical and compositional boundaries normally associated with rock music are push into new areas of artistic excellance. First started in Britain with the Psychedelic bands of the sixties before evolving into a diverse mix of sounds through a whole range of bands and spreading worldwide.
