Has anyone else noticed the amount of awesome metal / screamo bands have come out of Wales recently?

Lost Prophets and Funeral for a Friend have gotten more pop like but they started out pretty awesome.

Then there's As Silence Falls, Bullet for my Valentine, The Blackout and the list goes on and on. Is the metal scene in Wales really strong or is it just fluke?

Lemmy from motorhead, Dragonforce. been metal heads in wales from the very begining, and the latest bunch is no fluke

I could add a few more to that list but they're not metal. The music scene does seem to be pretty good in Wales right now.

Can't knock what is coming from Wales there is a vibrancy that is articulated in a unique Metal Welsh sound and here is another band that has broken through:

The First Time we saw the Band LIVE in October 2002 and we wrote a little review:

Funeral for a friend
With the band forming a line across the front of the small stage, defiance and attitude glared out at the crowd, thay crashed into their first song which in truth was a bit stilted and loose but as they started to relax for the second song they found their rhythm and timing and tightened up the sound into a hard core 'moshing' rock that had me wishing the Agincourt had a 'pit' to join, but alas, not on a sunday night in tory country.
The Band worked hard moving around the stage and when they started to 'mosh' on stage they found the wooden boards flung them up higher then they ever imagined, although only a short set they played some good rocking tunes that warmed up the crowd nicely.
