Punk Means Passion
There are so many bands that jump on the band wagon and label themselves punk, when really they are just pop bands that play a bit faster, punk should be about kicking out at the rules that keep us down, the corperates that exploite the people, the political class that seduce our votes with lies, the dictaters that oppress the people and the murdering cowardly scum who kill innocents because they are not honourable enough to confront THEIR ememies face to face.. Punk means passion, street passion, human passion, defend the weak and oppose the oppressors, tell me about the bands that play this music, and who stand up for the rights of others.. where are the modern 'Clash' , where are the bands that bring the real world to our attention, 'The Pistols' and 'The Jam's'..

As I write this I can see that you are still online, I hope that means you are listening to the Rockbox radio because at this time of the night the playlist is playing passionate music 'The heavy sessions' as we call it, this includes Djevara who we have several reviews and a interview with, check them out if you want to hear modern passion from young punk bands they are HOT, and they are joined by 'The Expoited' an old skool punk band who have got their second wind and play punk like you have never heard.. real bollock kicking punk, and if you check out our NEW Punk radio listen to that and then please come back and tell us if there are any bands on that station you like...all new and all modern ...

Is there anyone else who likes the old skool style of punk, I mean the angry music and the angry lyrics, I first found this website when i was listening to the seventies punk radio and now i have also heard the other punk radio that rock3 play and I like that as well, sort of old skool but current and right up todate punk.
My favourite punk bands of all time are Sham69, The Clash and The Sex Pistols but after listening to the 70's punk station I have found the Ruts who are also great. is there anyone else who lives in London who comes on this site

these type of bands you're talking about, and i'm sure they do exist cause i'm in one, will never be as big as the clash or the jam etc because record companies won't touch them. record companies are becoming more and more fickle and aren't simply looking for bands that will sell lots of records for a quick fix. they're not looking for bands with any lonjevity, integrity or passion, they're looking for what people like. what pisses me off even more is big bands that are now trying to be all political and all of a sudden trying to display a social conscience. take the new Linkin Park song for example, its complete shite but the video is clearly trying to be political by including images of atom bombs, juxtaposed with starving african kids, but unfortunately the video will have been produced by Warner Bros who will have had to pay shit loads of cash for the rights to those images. so its all complete bullshit. sorry for the pessimistic outlook.
check out www.myspace.com/rollcallforthesecondsite for some passionate political punk.

I don't know if you'll like them but I reviewed a punk band the other day called In Liars We Trust, worth checking out.
My favorite classic punk song is most likely White Riot by The Clash

Borstal Breakout by Sham is a wicked tune.
Most origional punk bands lost their way after a while. The Exploited are still going pretty strong though. Saw the Vibrators a few years ago and they were shite. UK Subs still go down a storm as well as The Subhumans.
